Lecture by Julie Nicoletta, April 7, 2009

Julie Nicoletta (’87), Professor of the History of Art and Architecture and Public History, University of Washington, Tacoma,  will be presenting the  Annual Kohler Lecture in the History of Art on April 7, 2009 at 4:15 pm in Lebus Court 113.   The title is “Art Out of Place: International Art Exhibitions at the New York World’s Fair, 1964-65.”

Mark Allen at LACMA

Mark Allen, founder of LA’s Machine Project, led 35 artists in a day-long art event on November 15, 2008 at LACMA entitled “A Machine Project’s Field Guide to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.” The event included performances, installations and workshops and received rave reviews in both the NY Times (November 30, 2008, p. 27) and the LA Times (November 17, 2008, pp. E1,5).

 As part of the event, Pomona sculptor Michael O’Malley “remade” a work by Carl Andre (see photo below)
