Annual Kohler Lecture in Art History by Abby McGehee (’85): “Reading Late Gothic Architecture”, Wednesday, November 10, 7:00 pm, Lebus Court 113

Dr. Abby McGehee is an Associate Professor of Architecture/History at the Oregon College of Art and Craft where she has taught a wide variety of Art History courses since 1997.  She received her Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, specializing in the medieval architecture of France and England. Her dissertation and subsequent research has focused on the Late Gothic and early Renaissance architecture of Paris and Champagne. Among her many articles is “The Virgin Chapel at Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais: Embellishment and Identity in Late Gothic Paris,” published in the Journal of Architectural Historians.  Other projects include a study of architectural language in sixteenth-century France and a monograph on the parish church Saint-Jean in Chaumont.  She is an active board member and contributor to the publications of AVISTA (the Association Villard de Honnecourt for the Interdisciplinary Study of Medieval Science, Technology ad Art).
